Martin joined Sopris Capital in 2025 as Head of Value Creation for the firm’s private equity investment strategy. Drawing on nearly 25 years of cross-industry & cross-functional experience as an operator with full P&L responsibility, a strategic advisor, and an equity investor, Martin partners with portfolio company executives to build organizational capability and scale operations.

Before joining Sopris, Martin spent nearly seven years as the Chief Operating Officer of a PE backed ultra-low carbon renewable fuels project developer where he worked closely with the CEO to grow the business, streamline operations, and execute strategic M&A. Earlier in his career, Martin was the global leader of strategic planning for Mattel and spent several years at Bain Capital where he was responsible for pre-investment diligence and post-transaction value creation at both larger multi-national and smaller middle-market businesses. Martin began his career at the Boston Consulting Group working executive teams across the U.S., Europe, South America and Asia to overcome a wide range of strategic, commercial, and organizational challenges.

Martin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Outside of the office, Martin enjoys international travel, golf with his son, and tennis. He lives in Los Angeles, CA.
