Joseph Howell joined Sopris Private Equity in 2024 and is a Director of Business Development.

Prior to joining Sopris Private Equity, Mr. Howell worked for several years in private equity in South Florida including as an associate at Trivest Partners. Prior to that, he worked in the executive branch of the U.S. government at the Department of Commerce and the White House where he focused primarily on workforce development and trade policy.

Mr. Howell received a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.S. in International Business from the University of South Carolina, while also spending his first year studying at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Outside of the office, Mr. Howell enjoys fishing and golfing and is an alumni committee member of the American Swiss Foundation.

Mr. Howell now resides in his hometown of Charleston, SC.
